BIOGRAPHIE


In 2003, she completed studies with the highest score at Universität der Knute, Berlin (Hans Joachim Greiner’s viola class). In 2007, she received first-class honours degree, having completed Summa Cum Laude postgraduate Konzertexammen studies at Universität der Knute, Berlin (master class).

Born in 1977 in Konin, Ewa Guzowska attended Music School in Konin in mgr Jan Szklarski MA’s violin class and Mieczysław Karłowicz Music High School in Poznań, in the violin class. She graduated from the viola class at Henryk Wieniawski Music High School. She completed studies at Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy with a first-class honours degree in 2001 (the viola class).
In the years 1999-2007, Ewa Guzowska used to cooperate, give concerts all over Europe and record radio and television programmes with various orchestras, for example: Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Berliner Kammer Orchester, Deusches Kammer Orchester, Sinfonia Varsovia, Polska Orkiestra Kameralna, Komische Oper Berlin, Kammerorchester Berlin. In 2002, she worked with Professor Thomas Brandis’s chamber group and „Pythagoras” string quartet, recording for Deutschland Radio Berlin. Dr Ewa Guzowska works with Kammerorchester Berlin and chamber orchestra ( czy to nie to samo?) as the Komische Oper soloists. She took part in a concert tour in 2005 with Polish Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Nigel Kennedy. In 2003, she was rewarded with a concert with The Chamber Orchestra conducted by Tomasz Tomaszewski. In 2005, she performed as a soloist with Polish Chamber Philharmony conducted by Wojciech Rajski and Poznań Philharmony conducted by Jerzy Salwarowski and Renard Czajkowski. She was given very positive opinions.

Ewa Guzowska was the 2nd prize winner in Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chaber Music Competition in Łódź (1998). She was honoured in the Jan Rakowski Viola Competition in Poznań (1998). She received the 1st award in the International Viola Competition, Quakenbruck. The artist won Art And Culture Minister’s Scholarship (1999), DSO scholarship and apprenticeship in Berlin (1999-2001), Komische Oper scholarship and apprenticeship in Berlinie (2002-2005), and Deutsche Oper Berlin scholarship with a chamber course in Japan.

In 2006 Ewa Guzowska run a viola course in Stade (Germany) and in Poznan, for music schools students. She also led summer viola workshops in July 2007. The Music Association of Konin invited the artist as a teacher to take part in the 1st International Witold Friemann Music Course in Konin (2008). Since 2006 she’s been working with famous musicians from Poznan in „Kwartet Wielkopolski”. In 2007, „Kwartet Wielkopolski” cooperated with American and Mexican artists and took part in Międzynarodowy Festiwal Teatrów i Tańca, in Poznan. The quartet performed many times in Germany, for example in Sommer Festiwal, Hannover, Frankfurt and Hamburg.

Dr Ewa Guzowska is a viola class teacher at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music University in Poznań and a soloist of viola group of Orkiestra Filharmonii Poznańskiej. She defended her PhD thesis entitled: „Sonata w literaturze altówkowej w kontekście wirtuozowskich i kolorystycznych możliwości instrumentu na podstawie wybranych utworów” written under the guidance of Professor Jan Paruzel in Bydgoszcz. On the 13th of November, 2007, she got a Doctor of Musician Art degree in art and instrumental discipline.
